What a sad day yesterday was for Vietnam adoptions. After weeks of rumors, the truth finally appeared on the US Embassy's Hanoi site. As of now, Vietnam adoptions will STOP on Sept.1, 2008 and dossiers will not be accepted as of July 1. They are saying those with referrals by Sept. 1 will be able to bring their children home. Those without referrals, their dossiers will be returned to their agencies. How sad for the innocent children left behind. How sad for the parents only wanting to love a child. Everyone looses. We can only pray something will change and adoptions can go forward.

It is very sad indeed. We can blame these big political relief organizations for this garbage I am sure. Children are better off with families no matter what the circumstances. Children need loving homes. No matter where they are in the world. My heart breaks for everyone involved!
ReplyDeleteMeg is one smart cookie. I think she'll find a job that pays $1,000 p/week.
ReplyDeleteVery sad... will keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteThis truly is a sad time. I want to know whose bright idea it is to shut down Vietnam to adoption. Who in the name of all these children thinks a child could possibly be better off in an orphanage. Who thinks that the families waiting don't really want to love & provide for these children.
ReplyDeleteI know the answer. The politicians. Maybe they should visit these orphanages & try explaining their BS to the children. Maybe the children will understand, because I sure as heck don't.
