Isn't this amazing? Mary Katherine Yang Li met with President Hu Jin Tao on Feb. 1, 2006 when he visited her orphanage in Xining, China. She remembers that he brought food and clothing for the children of her orphanage and made it possible for the children, Yang Li included, to have the surgeries they needed. She said he took her to lunch and dinner and she was also on TV with him. What a Small World. Here she is living in America, and here he is visiting President Obama.

5 years ago today we were in Guatemala celebrating Amy's 1st birthday and packing to leave for home with our little Mayan beauty the next day, MY birthday, because Hurricane Wilma was barreling towards South Florida, and the US Embassy allowed us to leave a few days early to prepare our home for the storm. I know I say it with every passing birthday or adoption day, but my goodness how the time has flown by. I remember Amy's referral day like it was yesterday, and what a wonderful adoption experience it was. 5 months from the day we sent our dossier to picking up our beautiful little Guatemalan beauty. I can't believe she is SIX!
