DRUM ROLL PLEASE~~~~~

We have TWO new China girls!
Meet
Mary-Katherine Yang Li
originally from
CWI Xining City, Qinghai, China
age 14
Finally, all our children are home!
Mary-Katherine & Hannah

and
Not to drag this out...
as of
6/23/2010
Mike is officially
RETIRED
Let the projects begin
and the
FOR SALE
sign go up!
As much as we love South Florida,
living on the sun has seen better days!
It's time to go.
After 33 years here
it might be nice to experience seasons again!
Oh! the thought of
PUMPKINS
not rotting on the front porch within 2 days!
CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
wearing hats and gloves
OPENING WINDOWS!!!!
Wearing jeans and Sweatshirts!
I'm not asking for much.
But what about the real estate market?
Will I be able to unload this house?
I doubt it :(
I live in
SOUTH FLORIDA
the
FORECLOSURE CAPITAL
we've lost 50% of our home value
and it keeps dropping by THOUSANDS
each month :(
Oh well, what can you do?
We'll sit back and watch GOD'S plans unfold
and see what HE has in store for this next chapter of our lives.
This is going to be
EXCITING!!

Stay tuned

  1. WOW - that came out of no where!! Any idea of where you want to move? The Cincy area has some great bargins (depending on what side of town you'd want to live - but the west side is the best side!!!) and we have seasons!!

Seriously great news! Being a retired guy who has gone back to work - it's cool to know that I could always "just quit" and not have to worry!

Good luck with all of it!

    hugs - aus and co.

  2. Where did I miss you adopted another China girl? Your daughter Mary-Katherine? How did that come about? I only remember reading about Hannah and waiting for her. Do tell!

Good luck on your new journey! I can't wait to see what God has in store for your wonderful family!!!

  3. So happy you are "out of the closet"!!! They always tell us here that, "If you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes and it will change!" And boy it does! Hope you get to take that crew traveling and bring them somewhere close to us so we can come meet you!!!!

    Hugs,
    Christie

  4. Move to Charlotte! Best City Ever! We have 4 beautiful season with Spring being the best! I love opening my windows, the pumpkins sit on the porch for 2 months before we throw them away to put up the Christmas decorations. We shop for Christmas in coats and mittens (usually) for sure in jeans and sweatshirts. We have more houses in Charlotte than can be sold (true everywhere around this time) There's a huge on across the street from us with 10 acres for sale. (a bit pricey though- depending on your definition) We also attend the best church in the world. Sold yet?

  7. Wow!!! Lots of wonderful news in one blow! I say move to Amarillo. You have the beauty of 4 seasons and can shop in coats, hats, and gloves, our falls are gorgeous. If you want to go someone were mountainous then Colorado is only hours away, and so is New Mexico.
I'm happy that one more has found her forever family. I too am curious how this all came about.
Mike "Happy Retirement". I know my Mike looks forward to retirement one day.

  8. Glad to see you finally posted about Mary-Katherine. And now Mike can be really busy and stay home and manage the kids with you. I don't envy you trying to sell a house in this economy. Trying to sell a house and competing against the all the foreclosure and short sales out there.

  9. Congrats for your beautiful family. Do share about Mary-Katherine. We live in hot Louisiana so I won't look for a house for you here. Good luck on moving.
